Get to Know Me
Where My Story Started

I thought I was choosing health. I was also chasing skinny.

I was pescatarian for five years. I thought it made me healthier, but I also believed it would keep me skinnier.

I avoided fast food and processed foods. I thought calories were bad. I paid attention to what I could cut out without understanding whether I was giving my body enough of what it needed.

Then my hemoglobin dropped to 6.

A potential blood transfusion isn't exactly a "fun" experience, or so i'm told.

The lesson was that being pescatarian and avoiding processed foods did not automatically mean I was meeting my nutritional needs. I had mistaken a way of eating for a guarantee that I was nourishing myself.

In my experience, I improved without taking iron pills. What stayed with me was how much I still had to learn about nutrition and my own body.

This is my personal experience, not advice to skip medical care or prescribed treatment for anemia.

I wanted to understand the bigger picture: what I ate, how much I ate, how I prepared it, and how those choices supported my health. That curiosity became a passion, then a purpose.

Today, I help people build that understanding for themselves, so their choices support both the body they want and the life they want to live.

When Everything Became Personal

My dad was invincible. Until he wasn’t.

My dad is 6'4", a 1985 All-Marine Corps boxing champion, and a Hall of Famer. So when I say I grew up thinking he was invincible, you can understand why.

Then he was diagnosed with tonsil cancer.

It greatly affected his ability to speak and eat. Things that had always been ordinary became difficult. Watching that happen to the man I had always seen as strong was heartbreaking.

For the first time in my life, my dad looked vulnerable. I was scared of losing him.

Shortly after his diagnosis, I survived a car accident that left people astonished I was alive.

Suddenly, I was confronting my father’s mortality and my own. The future I had assumed would be there felt uncertain.

I wanted to do everything I could to keep my dad here. Helping him change what he ate became one way I could show up, bringing my nutrition knowledge into our kitchen during a time when eating itself was a challenge.

Six months after his diagnosis, he was cancer-free.

I cannot take credit for that outcome or know what would have happened otherwise. But I wholeheartedly believe supporting his nourishment mattered. Being part of his journey deepened my commitment to helping other families care for themselves.

Surviving my own accident gave that commitment a new urgency. If I had neglected my body, would I have come through that experience the same way?

I cannot know. But the question changed how I thought about caring for myself and what I wanted to do with the life I still had.

Faith & Purpose

I believe God has me here for a reason.

I believe part of that purpose is teaching others how to honor their temple and care for themselves so they can pursue the life they have always dreamed of living.

My faith gives this work meaning. It reminds me that our time matters and that caring for our bodies deserves a place among the things we prioritize.

I want you to have the strength to participate, the mobility to explore, and the independence to keep doing what matters to you.

To travel. To play with your children. To try something new with greater confidence in what your body can do.

Illness and loss of mobility can make those experiences disappear completely. We cannot control every outcome, but we can take meaningful steps to support our health and preserve our abilities.

That is where I want to help.

My Background

My education. Your everyday life.

  • Certified Nutrition Expert Food Saved Me Institute
  • Certified Personal Trainer International Sports Sciences Association
  • Strength & Conditioning Specialist International Sports Sciences Association
  • Holistic Nutrition Expert Certification David Wolfe, with study incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine principles
  • Hands-On Cooking Instruction Teaching practical cooking skills since 2022

My approach connects that education to the decisions you make every day: what you eat, how you cook it, how you move, how you recover, and what you tell yourself when progress feels slow.

I favor practical, sustainable methods rooted in whole foods, thoughtful cooking, purposeful movement, and consistent habits. My holistic education, including Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, informs my approach alongside my nutrition and fitness training and respect for appropriate medical care.

I want the changes we make to fit into your life and remain useful long after our sessions end.

How We Work Together

A personalized plan, and the support to grow into it.

Knowing what to do is only part of the process. You also need to know how to make time for it, adjust when circumstances change, and keep going when motivation disappears.

Through coaching, your personalized wellness plan gives you direction. I help you put it into practice through nutrition guidance, fitness, cooking skills, and accountability, based on the support we choose together.

We also work on the mindset and attitude behind lasting change: discipline, patience, self-respect, and the ability to have an imperfect day without turning it into an abandoned goal.

I want you to understand your choices, recognize your progress, and become more confident caring for yourself.

The goal is to grow from where we start, with skills you keep and habits that become part of how you live.

My Philosophy

Healing or Hurting, Your Choice.

My philosophy invites you to consider whether your everyday choices support the future you want.

It is about taking ownership where you have influence. It is not a judgment about illness or a claim that every health challenge is preventable.

You can learn how to nourish yourself. You can practice building strength. You can develop cooking skills and routines that make caring for yourself easier.

Those choices deserve your attention because your life deserves your participation.

The Mission of Wellness Wisdom

Teach & Inspire Others to Build a Healthier Life.

The mission reaches beyond us.

That is the promise at the heart of Wellness Wisdom. My mission is to help people take greater ownership of their health, their bodies, and the direction of their lives through education they can actually use.

I want that knowledge to travel, into the kitchen where a family prepares dinner, the habits a child learns from a parent, the confidence someone gains when they discover what their body can do.

Every nutrition class, cooking experience, coaching session, and speaking event is an opportunity to help that happen.

When you learn to care for yourself, you gain skills you can share. That is how the work can reach beyond one person and influence the next generation.

Build Your Body, Build Your Life.
